Vision, Intuition & Shamanic Guidance: Living Miracles

“Living out of our vision is more powerful than living out of our circumstance. Holding onto a vision invokes the circumstances by which the vision is achieved. Vision is the content; material circumstances are mere form.” —  Marianne Williamson

I’ve spent the entire week receiving emails from participants from my last Shamanic Breathwork Journey through the Chakras workshop on Saturday. People have been sending me details about the visions they encountered, and I’ve been contemplating how we all share this collective drive to live more purposeful and meaningful lives as soul’s having this collective human experience in these skin suits we call bodies.

When vision and intuition guide you, life becomes a canvas for miracles. In A Return to Love, Marianne Williamson cautions that manifestation emerging from ego is about trying to control outcomes; whereas real miracles come when you become a vessel for the Universe’s expression of love.

In the sacred act of building a meaningful life, whether building a business, releasing ancestral pain, or birthing a soul’s project, the most successful people lean not on logic alone, but on the whisperings of Spirit. You only have to look at the tech founders, inventors and social leaders who have spoken of “visions” or “inner guidance” that led them to create what seemed impossible at first.

Nike’s brand name came through a dream, as did Larry Page’s inspiration to coding Google. And it’s well known that Steve Jobs frequently drew from his psychedelic experiences and Zen practices to create Apple’s design ethos.

The trick lies in surrender: not trying to control the ‘how’, but offering yourself as a channel.

A client of mine once shared that he made lucrative and astonishing stock trades following messages from his spirit guides. Another client discovered the solution to a confusing engineering problem in an altered state of consciousness. These were not wild leaps, but inspired downloads that yielded an outcome beyond logical control. That kind of guidance isn’t about forcing outcomes, but rather boldly sitting in stillness and receiving.

All of these are examples of stepping out of your own way, and opening up to a force that is way bigger than you could ever be. If you are “manifesting” through control, you resist change and perpetuate scarcity. But when you open yourself up to simply becoming a channel to express love in the way that you were uniquely designed for, the universe will give you all the resources you need to take the right actions.

What does freedom from ancestral patterns have to do with living my vision?

A participant in last week’s workshop shared this aha-energy moment:

“ I’ve never experienced that touch in my solar plexus before. What did you remove? It was my first time vocally releasing from the heart. I felt like I was letting go of 7 generations of pain and trauma. Now, I can go on to love in peace. Thank you—for me and my ancestors.”

Her experience is a vivid example: the wounds we carry are more than our own. We are an amalgamation of all those who came before us. Your ego likes to think you’re an individual, but you’re a cesspool of inherited stories. Our ancestors are literally woven into our DNA. The moments when you feel stuck and unsure of yourself come from the intergenerational streams of weight that you have been holding unconsciously your entire life. Without conscious inner work, you default to actions that are fear-based versus acting from a place of new possibility. How are you meant to create a life that you love if you are full of scarcity and fear imprints from your hidden past?

In the shamanic traditions, you are not meant to heal alone. The very word healing itself implies a connection, a remembrance of how to reinforce community and tribe. And imagine if you could do it all alone, which you can’t by the way, it would be lonely and boring. The path of shamanic healing is the work of collective alchemy. You were designed to connect to others and share your stories, so that you can compost your ancestral heaviness into a living gifts.

The Soul Speaks through Symbols

Here is another share from someone who came to the workshop:

“A voice said, ‘you speak the consciousness of love. That is the greatest gift and the greatest abundance there is.’ When I connected with these four chakras, the chess knight piece appeared, a symbol of strategic courage and grace in action.”

Her experience allowed her to realize that miracles can only happen by embodying the higher frequencies of love.

In Chinese medicine, there are two currents of energy that run through the spine: Ren Mai (top-down channel) and Du Mai (bottom-up channel). I like to think of it as a two-way highway network that gives and receives information very much like an antenna. We are all wired to receive vision from above and are meant to ground these visions into material reality. We also receive what we give out. That’s the Law of Reciprocity 101.

Most people are so disconnected to the types of thoughts, words and actions they are generating, that they often wonder why they are attracting the endless sea of drama into their lives.

When one lacks awareness, everything is dim. From the consumption of toxic food choices, to perpetuating toxic belief systems and drama-ridden relationships. If you consider every negative thought as a seed with the potential to grow; then multiply that by the amount of times you’ve had the thought in a day, you now have quantifiable proof of why your life is the way it is.

Your visions cannot flow when you are shrink-wrapped in a state of contracted anxiety and fear? Anxiety and fear disrupt the natural flow of receptivity. For miracles to truly crystallize, vision must enter into a healthy body mind and heart.

In many indigenous traditions, including the Aboriginal Dreamtime cosmology of Australia: the past and the future are woven into the present. When you’re doing envisioning practices, you’re actually downloading messages from your future self, to heal older versions of your past selves including your ancestors. Essentially, healing work can travel through time.

Neuroscience research on intuitive cognition, precognition show how symbolic downloads may be how consciousness receives guidance outside from outside of linear space and time. Dr. Julia Mossbridge, in The Premonition Code, explores how the brain is not just a projector of reality but also a receiver of future signals.
Her studies suggest precognitive and presentiment effects are not mystical outliers but phenomena to be mapped.

When you listen to the messages of your soul through the language of symbols, life responds magically. If you chalk it all up to disbelief, and live in a world of not trusting in your imagination, then life becomes overly materialistic and lacklustre.

You only have to look at beautiful buildings and pieces of art that touch the soul, and know that these were once blueprints in the consciousness of a soul who bravely listened to and dared to build it.

What Is Shamanic Journeying?

Shamanic journeying is a practice of traversing inner landscapes to receive wisdom, healing and guidance. One of my teachers, Sandra Ingerman describes it as entering altered states (often in theta wave brain frequencies) guided by drumming, rattles or other repetitive rhythms to open the doorway to a non-ordinary realm.

In Siberian and North American traditions, shamans used constant drum beats to anchor the conscious mind as the spirit traveled. In these expanded states, the soul speaks in images, metaphors, and synchronicities, very similar to what you would witness in a dream state.

In one of my sober journeys, I encountered Archangel Lucifer, not as evil, but as a mirror of my personal shadows. I was thrust into a psychodrama of my shame and my inner critic. A cascade of taboo and grotesque scenes played out from my repressed and hidden desires. That vision became medicine: it allowed me to release old contracts, soften my inner judgment, and step into a deeper embodiment of self-love that involved expressing clearly what I want.

While on another journey induced by the psychedelic Ayahuasca vine, Saint Teresa of Ávila and Sister Bethany visited me. They taught me to not be so righteous and over-attach to having the last word. I was very much into correcting others all the time. I was shown that in claiming my sovereignty, it meant that I also had to allow others to do the same, even if that meant they took detours that seemed like mistakes to me.

One of my clearest visions came to me in Peru in 2016. I saw the three-story shophouse that would become my yoga healing studio in Singapore. At that moment, I almost succumbed to logic. But Spirit pushed me: ‘BUILD NOW. This is your mission,” they screamed. I applied for my business visa on 11/11, and 11 days later on 22/11, the lease, funding, and all the logistics fell into place.

In 2019, despite all of the material and spiritual success, I was shown a new vision and what seemed like a sudden left turn. I was guided to sell the business and move out of the country. My partner was offered a great job opportunity in Sydney. When they said they would even sponsor my visa and pay for the entire move, I took it as a sign and off we went. Many of my community called it madness when I suddenly broke my 3 year lease and left Singapore.

However, in 2020, I realized that the Universe was conspiring on my behalf. My business would have suffered greatly during the lockdowns which affected Singapore more than Australia. I was blessed to be in Australia and affected so minimally. Plus, I was also being surrounded by lots of nature, and the space and time to go drop deeper into shamanic ceremonial work.

The path of the shamanic journey is not just spiritual theater; it’s a complete soul realignment. When we heed vision, the Universe provides you with more energy so that miracles can materialize with greater ease and grace.

Vision to Embodied Miracles

  1. Receive vision in breathwork, meditation, active dreamwork or sacred ceremony. Record symbols, messages, feelings. It’s important to keep a journal and track the differences between fantasy/delusion, daydreams, wishful thinking and inspired vision.

  2. Decode with intuition—ask, “What are the symbols I’m receiving asking me to become? What old identity has to be released in order for the newer version of me to be born?”

  3. Implement small aligned actions—In the yogic and Buddhist traditions, your thoughts and words must align with your actions, or there is no coherence. If you don’t mean what you say, and say what you mean, there is a leak in energy, and you will not be able to magnetize miracles into reality.

  4. Surrender ownership—You can state your desire, but the irony is you have to release control. You have to release how it arrives. Let go and let God as they say. Stay open to the new and surprising ways that Spirit can materialize your soul’s blueprint, and it will show up beyond even your wildest of dreams.

  5. Repeat—vision + embodiment + trust = momentum towards the miraculous.

A miracle doesn’t mean “safe.” It often means you had to let something die so something new could emerge. Think of your life as a series of tests where the universe asks you to yield your self-will so the highest vision can live through you.

Take and modify this prayer that I use often when I’m co-creating with Spirit:

“Dear Great Spirit. I surrender this situation to you. May it be used for your purposes. I ask only that my heart be open to give and receive love. May all the results unfold according to your Will and to the highest path of Love. Aho.”

If you get lost in the trenches with a heart-wrenching separation or even grieving the loss of a career identity, remember to keep this eagle-eyed perspective: “the highest path of love,” and the highest benefit of your soul and all beings involved, does not factor in your limited self-serving opinions. The Universe will always expand you in ways that your mind will never be ready for. So buckle up, and embrace the initiation, even if it seems like you have to give up a lucrative business and life of luxury and comfort.
